Photo Photo!

These are the boys lining up in the morning for the daily prayers. There are Christian, Hindu and Muslim boys at Deepahalli. I'm not sure if there are any Scientologists though.

A lot of people in India ride motorbikes around. This is a pretty typical site: Man riding with a woman in a sari in the back. Usually the woman will have one or two of her kids straddled on her lap or shoved between the driver and the handlebars. Also, its amusing to see a woman wearing a beautiful sari driving a motorbike, especially while wearing a helmet.

Autorickshaw. It looks safer than a bike...but I'm not so sure.

Me and some of the kids at the Play School in Hosur slums, which we have visited a couple times and I think I mentioned in an earlier post. Note the teeny girl in the pink to the right who decided that chalk was for rubbing on her face.

This is in the tailoring unit in Hosur when the Indian women spent several hours dressing up the girls like Indian barbie dolls in saris and makeup and hairdos. Note me sitting to the right. I was forced to watch them play barbie for what seemed like two hours before being banished to take care of the play school kids by myself.

These kids are absolutely adorable. They look tough. Way tougher than fat pasty little American kids! Taking care of groups of kids like that can be a total nightmare--just trying to come up with things for them to do so they don't all kill eachother is exhausting. Just remember that you are the authority and you have to project that, ...kinda like with puppies. That little girl with the chalk on her face is the cutest thing I think i've ever seen.

P.S., I'm really curious to know if everyone has been staring at you because of your red hair.

yes everyone has been staring at me. And the whole group really. They really are thrown off by seeing white people and its uncomfortable how frequently we get stared at.
